SHE SIR, General
You have the right to expect a well-crafted, meticulously designed product from a band containing two academically-trained composers.
She Sir experiment with and generally obsess over the aesthetics of songwriting. Unique phrasing, intricate arrangement, smart sensibilities, and cagey rhythms are just a few of the elements that contribute to the unique She Sir sound. By combining carefully constructed songcraft and unhurried vocals --along with their education and background in Classical and Modern music composition practices-- the band achieves a wall of sound that unmistakably presents a modern skew all their own. This band proves that modern indie music yet contains undiscovered territory.
In 2006, She Sir released an academically dense piece of nineties-influenced shoegaze writing called, "Who Can't Say Yes." The record charted well within the CMJ top 100 and brought with it lots of positive reviews and recognition. The band has since stayed hard at work on their follow-up and has continued to steadily gain interest from bloggers and listeners, both locally and internationally.
She Sir alumni include past and present members of JOHN VANDERSLICE, MENOMENA, LOXSLY, BRAZOS, WHAT MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS, RINGO DEATHSTARR, MY EDUCATION, PEEL and LOW LINE CALLER.

As diverse as it is coherent. This full-length project is currently being recorded to 2” tape at Cacophony Recorders by producer Erik Wofford (VOXTROT, WHAT MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS, THE OCTOPUS PROJECT, THE BLACK ANGELS). The collection features a variety of instruments such as organ, accordion, flute & autoharp in addition to guitars, drums & stacks of vocals. The songwriting on this album addresses and reconciles the perceived disparity between the pop sensibilities, professionalism & vocal arrangements of the 1960’s with the roots of shoegaze and stylistic denseness, making for a genuinely exciting & original listening experience.
